Through our partners we fund cataract surgery for needy patients in an ongoing charity programme. We target impoverished elderly people who cannot afford the medical costs of restoring the lost, precious gift of sight.
With the assistance of the regional referral hospital's professional ophthalmology team, patients are mobilised and screened, the appropriate candidates for surgery are identified, and each one is cared for before and after the operation.
We have so far carried out about 100 surgeries, and look forward to reaching up to one million patients in Uganda, Insha'Allah.
